Welcome to my website!!! Here I will be documenting the production of my Final Major Project. For my FMP I have decided to create a small EP for a non-existent game and an audio visualizer in Sound Designer. The music within the EP is based on video games such as dreamworld and Pyschopomp. The creator of said games, Karbonic, has been a large inspiration for me not only within music production but also with creating video games. Dreamwild was a major factor in my decision to pursue game development.
For this project I will be using the DAW (digital audio workspace) FL Studio for the music production. I chose FL Studio since its the DAW that I have most experience in. This project in particular is very significant since music production has been a hobby of mine for a long time, and getting better at producing music has always been a goal of mine. Thanks to this project, it gives me time to hone in on my skills and develop them further.
CLick here to listen to the EP!!!!! <--
This is specifically for people who aren’t well invested with musical terms:
Chords: A combination of notes (two or more) played simultaneously to create harmony
Scale: A set of notes ordered by pitch used to create melodies and harmonies
Key: The “tonal center”, meaning the base of groups of notes and chords
BPM: Beats per minute. Jurisdicts the tempo (speed of the song)
Seventh note: refers to the seventh note (leading note) of a scale.
DAW: This stands for Digital Audio Workstation, which is what we are using to create the music. The specific DAW that is being used is FL Studio.
Pattern: contain notes, chords and melodies
Consolidation: exports selected pattern into the timeline
Timeline: where you place your melodies and sounds.
